About Steven Ozer, MD

Steven Ozer, MD, FASA, is a pediatric anesthesiologist who has served in several leadership roles at Phoenix Children's, including chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, chief of the Anesthesiology Section and member of the Medical Executive Committee.

Dr. Ozer joined the Phoenix Children's team in 2000, immediately after completing his fellowship. After growing up in the Phoenix area, he felt that joining Phoenix Children's was a natural choice. He says the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of the staff at Phoenix Children's has inspired him to work his entire career here.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, he completed an anesthesiology residency at the University of California - San Diego, where he served as chief resident. He went on to complete a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Dr. Ozer is board certified in pediatric anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He's also a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, Arizona Medical Association and Arizona Society of Anesthesiologists.

Since 2013, Dr. Ozer has been repeatedly named to Phoenix Magazine's Top Doctors list.

In addition to providing excellent clinical care, Dr. Ozer believes in the importance of explaining things thoroughly, answering all questions and helping to make stressful situations for patients and families as easy as possible.

Outside of work, Dr. Ozer enjoys spending time with his family and mountain biking. He also loves playing guitar and singing in his all-physician, classic rock cover band, Central Line.
