About Susan M. Hamman, MD
Susan M. Hamman, MD, MPH, is a pediatric radiologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Hamman has a clinical interest and specialized training in cardiothoracic and musculoskeletal imaging services for children of all ages.
After earning her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, Dr. Hamman graduated with her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky. She completed her internship and residency training in radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospitals in Alabama. Dr. Hamman trained as a fellow in pediatric radiology at Children's Medical Center and University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, as well as at Phoenix Children's. She returned to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School for an observership in musculoskeletal radiology, then earned a master's degree from George Washington University Milken School of Public Health in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Hamman is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in both pediatric and diagnostic radiology. She is a member of the Society for Pediatric Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, the American Association of Women Radiologists and the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Committed to continuing and graduate medical education, Dr. Hamman has written chapters for medical textbooks and has been an invited presenter at several annual meetings of the North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging. She is a faculty member in the departments of radiology at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson.
Dr. Hamman spends her free time gardening and visiting her three adult children, as well as playing tennis, piano and guitar.
