Pediatrician Todd Gardner, DO, was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. A father of twin daughters and a son, he is well versed in the world of children - from Paw Patrol and Cars to unicorns and Doc McStuffins.
Dr. Gardner graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa and completed his residency in general pediatrics at the University of Nebraska.
He valued his time and learning experiences in Iowa and Nebraska, but he is grateful to be home again at Phoenix Children's. "There is no other place I would want to practice medicine than working with the hospital that I grew up knowing," he says.
Dr. Gardner enjoys caring for children and adolescents. He also has a passion for treating patients with special needs and those with mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression.
"There is no other profession as rewarding as working with children," he says.

Todd is always great relating to my son who is very shy and struggles to interact with people he doesn't know. His causal approach puts my son at ease. Todd also has a good balance of explaining things in a simple way for my son but also detailed enough for me to understand. We love Phx Ch Peds Gilbert! Every provider we've seen there is fantastic. Dr Gardner was no exception. He treated my daughter with respect, and was very thorough in his care. I just wanted to add that we moved and are now 35-45min away and I still will keep bringing my girls here. Dr. Gardner is wonderful, so professional and kind. He does his best to make all of us comfortable and I appreciate that. We have seen other providers at this location and they all have been great! So on the rare chance we can't see him I still will continuing bringing my children here for their care.

Hi, I just am transferring my kids over to Dr. Gardner, and he has been phenomenal. I have a daughter, actually the one he hasn't met yet is medically fragile, so over the years we've had many, many providers. And the way he talked to my kids and not over them, and the way he gave them doable suggestions and empowered them and motivated them was just fantastic. Dr. Gardner is the best. Patient, understanding and gives your child enough time to express themselves. Assesses child very well by just talking to them. He does not give white coat syndrome vibe. Down to earth. Thumbs up so far best provider and facility
