About Vivian P. Mai, DO

Vivian Mai, DO, is a general pediatrician at Phoenix Children's who provides a wide range of services for infants, children and adolescents. She also is an experienced practitioner of osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), an evidence-based practice that can boost the body's natural healing process.

Dr. Mai knew during medical school that Phoenix Children's was where she wanted to complete her training and launch her career in pediatric medicine. She enjoys the patients, the culture and the caregivers who inspire her to grow as a provider.

After graduating cum laude with an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, Dr. Mai earned her degree in osteopathic medicine from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. She completed her pediatric residency and osteopathic manipulative medicine training at Phoenix Children's.

Dr. Mai is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has presented research on the benefits of osteopathic manipulative medicine at the annual meetings of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Inspired by her own pediatrician to pursue a career in pediatrics, Dr. Mai's philosophy is to care for both her patients and their families. She believes that families and a child's home environment play an essential role in raising happy, healthy children.

When not caring for her patients, Dr. Mai enjoys spending time with her husband and going on walks or hikes while exploring different areas of Arizona. You also may find her in the kitchen trying new baking recipes while watching food-related TV shows.
