About William S. Wood, MD
Dr. Wood double majored in psychology and biological sciences from Northwestern University. Upon completion of his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Medicine, Dr. Wood completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. Following residency, Dr. Wood completed a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
His specific area of interest will be orthopedic trauma, focusing on traumatic injuries to growing bones, including bone fractures and other musculoskeletal injuries. He will help oversee a growing orthopedic trauma care team at Phoenix Children's. He aims to both expand emergency orthopedic trauma care and to increase the availability for children that need to see a pediatric orthopedic trauma care surgeon promptly on an outpatient basis.
