Alyssa Runco, MD is a pediatric neurocritical care fellow at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s, where she is part of a nationally recognized fellowship program focused on the care of critically ill pediatric and adolescent patients with neurological conditions. Dr. Runco earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine and completed her child neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She holds bachelor’s degrees from Texas A&M University. During her residency, Dr. Runco contributed to research in pediatric neurology, co-authoring work on patients with ATP1A2 and AP1A3 gene mutations, which she has also presented at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting.

Dr. Runco is committed to advancing the care of children with critical neurological illnesses and has a particular interest in neurogenetic and neuroinflammatory conditions within the ICU.
