Abhijith R. Bathini, MD is currently a PGY-3 in the Department of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic Arizona. He completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore with a dual major in Neuroscience and German Literature. He was granted several multidisciplinary research awards, including the Woodrow Wilson Research Fellowship, to investigate hypothalamic molecular mechanisms underlying circadian rhythms and to develop solar energy based infrastructural models for rural towns. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.
Dr. Bathini has a strong clinical and academic interest in open cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery. He has published multiple studies focused on advancing both microsurgical and minimally invasive endovascular therapies for treatment of complex neurovascular disorders. His other research endeavors leverage the use of artificial intelligence for automated imaging analysis, predictive modeling of aneurysm rupture risk, and integration of microrobotics to enhance targeted therapeutic drug delivery, efforts that have earned him multiple research grants.
