At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:

Define the ictal-interictal continuum (IIC) and its component EEG patterns using ACNS standardized terminology.
Recognize the incidence, clinical associations and seizure risk of IIC patterns in critically ill children.
Apply the 2HELPS2B score for seizure risk stratification in the pediatric ICU.
Develop a systematic approach to the evaluation and management of IIC patterns in children.

Sam Kamoroff, MD, MHA is a clinical neurophysiology fellow at Phoenix Children's. He completed his medical school at American University of Antigua and pediatric neurology residency at Mayo Clinic Florida. He also holds a Masters in Health Administration with a focus on Healthcare Operations.
His clinical interest includes EEG, epilepsy, pediatric stroke, neurocritical care and general child neurology. He will be joining a hospital-based adult neurology group in southwest Indiana to provide general pediatric neurology care to an underserved area.
