Clara Chow Haws, MD, is a pediatric neurologist at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's with specialty expertise in treating pediatric and adult patients with nerve and muscle disease. She is also trained to perform nerve conduction studies and electromyography.

Dr. Chow Haws' fascination with math and science developed when she was young. While trying to decide on a career path, she explored basic science research, volunteered at a local hospital and shadowed physicians. Her love for interacting with patients and families led her to choose a career in medicine.

After earning her medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin, Dr. Chow Haws completed a pediatric residency at Phoenix Children's. She completed a child neurology residency at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's, and subsequent neuromuscular medicine fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Chow Haws is certified in child neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Academy of Neurology and the Child Neurology Society. Dr. Chow Haws contributes to advancing her field through lectures and presentations at professional meetings.

When it comes to patient care, Dr. Chow Haws focuses on treating the patient, not their disease. She works with patients and their families to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their goals and advocates for her patients' best interests.
