James Prieto, MD, is a pediatric surgery fellow at Phoenix Children’s. After completing his undergraduate degree at the United States Naval Academy, Dr. Prieto earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He completed his general surgical residency training at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Prior to joining the fellowship program at Phoenix Children’s, Dr. Prieto served as the ship surgeon aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. At the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Prieto will be moving to Virginia to practice Pediatric Surgery at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and three children.
