About this presenter:

Kathryn King, MD
Pediatric Plastic Surgeon
Phoenix Children's

As a pediatric plastic surgeon, Kathryn Sarah King, MD, specializes in hand and microvascular surgery.

Dr. King came to Phoenix Children's for the opportunity to impact children's lives by restoring hand and upper extremity function. She believes it's a blessing to watch children grow and navigate the world and considers the chance to impact their development a gift.

Dr. King has always been a problem solver. Her curiosity when problem solving, in combination with encouragement from strong women mentors led Dr. King down her path into medicine. After earning her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. King completed her residency in plastic surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She went on to complete a hand and upper extremity fellowship with the Florida Orthopedic Institute. Dr. King is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. King has helped advance her field as an invited speaker at professional meetings and symposiums. She's published numerous articles in professional journals.

Though some patients may have the same diagnosis, Dr. King understands that patients and their families have their own stories and different needs. That's why she treats each patient as an individual with unique goals.

When she's not working, Dr. King loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. They enjoy being outside hiking, biking or creating chalk art on the driveway. They also love spending time traveling and exploring the world.
