R.D.B. “Jake” Jaquiss, MD is presently the Albert O. Nichols Professor of Congenital Cardiac Surgery and Co-Director of the Herma Heart Institute at Children’s Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Formerly, he held similar positions at the University of Texas Southwestern, Duke University, and the University of Arkansas. He is a graduate of Wabash College and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and completed post-graduate training in surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and congenital cardiac surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Jaquiss is a member of numerous professional societies, and the current president of the Congenital Heart Surgeons’ Society. He has had a particular interest in neonatal heart surgery, the surgical treatment of heart failure in children, and optimization of systems of care for patients with congenital heart disease.
