Dr. Berman is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a pediatric surgeon at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. She serves as Director of Surgical Quality and Safety, Surgical Director of the NICU, and Patient Safety Officer at Nemours Children’s Hospital-DE. She is also the Program Director of the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship and Pediatric Surgery Research/Quality and Safety Fellowship.

Dr. Berman is currently Chair of the American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA) Wellness Committee and director of the APSA peer support program. She helped found the Nemours Children’s Health Enterprise peer support program and serves as a member of the steering committee.
