The Pediatric Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to practice high quality, state-of-the-art pediatric Sports Medicine management. This program meets the ACGME requirements to fulfill the needs of fellows who anticipate careers in the clinical practice of this specialty.
The program was newly accredited by the ACGME in 2020 and we are currently accepting up to two fellows per year. Fellows have access to pursue an advanced degree through the University of Arizona and are encouraged to become members of the faculty at the local medical schools.
Phoenix Children’s Hospital has the only Sports Medicine program in Arizona dedicated solely to pediatric/adolescent patients. Our Sports Medicine division includes seven dedicated faculty members, and a team of physical therapists dedicated to sports rehabilitation. We have established relationships with multiple school athletic trainers throughout the Phoenix Metro area, local sports nutritionists, and adult Sports Medicine providers. Our program provides sports coverage opportunities at the youth, high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
