The Combined Pediatric-Medical Genetics and Genomics Residency Program is a four-year residency program where residents will spend the first year in Pediatrics and the subsequent years will be spent equally (three-month blocks) between Pediatrics and Medical Genetics and Genomics rotations.
Pediatric continuity clinics will occur one-half day per week during years one and two. MGG continuity clinics will occur one-half day per week during years three and four.
Residents will have the opportunity to rotate to several different sites in addition to Phoenix Children’s:
- Mayo Clinic Arizona (Scottsdale, AZ): residents will participate in adult medical genetics and cancer genetics clinics with an internal medicine geneticist and cancer clinics staffed by genetic counselors and oncologists.
- Children’s Hospital Colorado (Univ. of Colorado, Anschutz Campus): will provide biochemical laboratory and molecular genetics training experiences.
- St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (Phoenix, AZ): will provide cytogenetics laboratory training.
