Outpatient Mentoring Group
In 2021, the program leadership and leaders of Phoenix Children’s Primary Care and Phoenix Children’s Care Network developed a recurring mentoring group for residents pursuing a career immediately following residency. Utilizing recruiters, faculty and former residents working in the community, this group meets ~6 times per year to help residents identify all the important steps and considerations in preparation for a physician job search. Topics include development of a cover email, development of your curriculum vitae, where to look for jobs/job postings, practice types, interview skills best practice, evaluating total compensation package and a primer on billing and coding. Modeled after our fellowship mentoring group, we expect this program to continue to grow over time and look for a similar success in connecting residents with a career and position that supports their aspirations.
Career mentors – our general pediatric and subspecialty faculty mentors are committed to helping our residents get the fellowship program or job of their dreams.
