Neuromuscular Program
Members of our Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Palliative Care departments join together to offer dedicated support and specialty care to our neuromuscular patients. Nurses, social workers and physical therapists round out our highly skilled team.
In order to make a diagnosis, our medical team will require:
- A detailed patient and family history
- A neurological exam
- Diagnostic laboratory testing
- Genetic testing
When possible, we practice nationally recognized, evidence-based guidelines to make every diagnosis.
Tailored care for your child
After your child’s initial assessment and diagnostic screenings are complete, we develop a personalized care plan. Referrals to the appropriate pediatric specialties are ordered based on your child’s symptoms, diagnosis and clinical findings. You may also choose to register your child with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
