Conditions We Treat

Neuropsychology Program

The neuropsychology team at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital cares for children with medical conditions that affect brain functioning and development. Your child must have a qualifying medical condition and be referred by a physician.

Some examples of qualifying medical conditions include:

  • Cancer
  • Chromosomal abnormalities and genetic disorders such as Down syndrome
  • Concussion
  • Conditions requiring neurosurgery (pre- and post-assessment)
  • Demyelinating conditions
  • Epilepsy
  • Fetal alcohol syndrome
  • Meningitis
  • Movement disorders
  • Premature birth
  • Stroke
  • Transplant
  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

We can offer care and guidance to help these children with memory, thinking (cognitive), coordination, learning and other challenges as they grow and learn.
