This booklet from The Emily Center at Phoenix Children's is designed to help parents, guardians and schools make the best choices for the education of children who have chronic illnesses, are seriously ill or have other special needs.

Arizona Private Schools for Children with Special Needs

Arizona Center for Comprehensive Education and Life Skills (ACCEL) is a private, nonprofit special education program that provides innovative, individualized, and comprehensive educational, behavioral, life skills, and transition services for individuals ages 5-21.

The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students (ACES) works with students to increase their academic level so they can compete in public school, replace inappropriate behaviors with classroom-appropriate ones, and return to public school as quickly as possible.

The Children’s Center for Neurodevelopmental Services (CCNS) is a state-certified, non-profit school and therapy center for children with autism and other developmental delays.

Chrysalis Academy is a private, Arizona Department of Education approved day school for children with ASD and related disabilities.

The Hi-Star Center for Children is a private special education day school for children in Kindergarten through 12th grades with severe language/communication, learning, and behavioral needs.

Lexis Preparatory is a specialized school ideal for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, dyslexia, and/or ADHD.

Pieceful Solutions is a K-12th organization created specifically to offer children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities a comprehensive program using innovative teaching techniques.
