Helping Pediatricians and Their Offices Provide Excellent Care for Their Patients
Valley Pediatric Triage (VPT) is operated by Phoenix Children’s and offers pediatricians and their offices the opportunity to purchase subscription plan services to help provide an extra layer of coverage in handling patient calls after normal business hours.
VPT’s Hours of Operation
- Monday through Friday - Open 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Saturday and Sunday - Open 24 hours
- We are also open 24 hours on major holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day).
When you become a subscriber, the VPT team works closely with you to answer your questions and help ensure a smooth integration.
How the Process Works
- When a parent or guardian calls their pediatrician's office after hours, they are forwarded to the pediatrician's answering service.
- The office’s answering service takes the information from the parent or guardian and pages the message to a VPT nurse.
- The VPT nurse then triages calls according to urgency by calling the parent or guardian, assessing the child and giving advice according to VPT protocols.
- Subscribers also have the option to add a secure VPT link to their website. This provides parents or guardians with the ability to communicate more directly with a nurse at VPT. Subscribers may use the online link in addition to or instead of sending patients through their own answering service.
