And, these deaths are most likely to happen between now and Labor Day weekend. That’s why Phoenix Children’s Hospital brings the state together for Drowning Impact Awareness Month, Arizona’s largest drowning prevention effort, which kicks off on Friday, July 29th at 9:30 am in the Melvin L. Phoenix Children's, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health systems, has received a pair of three-year accreditations from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in the specialties of Inpatient Rehabilitation Pediatric Specialty Program and Brain Injury Specialty Program. Phoenix Children’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Program is the only pediatric and adolescent program in the state. CARF International is an independent nonprofit accreditor of health and human services aimed at raising care standards for service providers.

The Valley Toyota Dealers Association (TDA) announced today that they will match up to $250,000 toward the new Emergency Department and Trauma Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. As the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation nears its goal of raising $40 million to fund the new facility, the TDA plays a major role in raising the last $500,000 needed to achieve that target. Together, the TDA and Phoenix Children’s are asking the community to help raise the remaining funds of $250,000.
