Phoenix Children’s Hospital is proud to announce the organization is again ranked by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals in 10 out of 10 specialties. The health system remains Arizona’s only children’s hospital to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report and is one of only 24 children’s hospitals in the United States to make the list in all 10 surveyed specialties for 2019-20.

Children who need care for cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, plagiocephaly and other craniofacial conditions will benefit from having seamless, coordinated care through Phoenix Children’s Medical Group.

As Arizonans continue to abide by COVID 19 social distancing restrictions, drowning risk for Arizona’s children is expected to rise. Toddlers in Arizona are already drowning at double the national rate. Economic hardship is also increasing caregiver stress, childcare options are severely limited, and families are confined to apartments and single-family homes, where drowning risk is highest.

This is the fifth EMS conference Phoenix Children’s has produced. The health system prioritizes this training to ensure EMS partners can recognize pediatric-specific symptoms and know how to help stabilize Arizona’s youngest patients.

As Chief Physician Executive, Muenzer will lead all clinical care, including the health system’s growing behavioral health services, Phoenix Children’s Care Network, clinical research efforts at the Phoenix Children’s Research Institute, medical education and the growing network of Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics practices. He will continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix Children’s Medical Group, a role he has held since 2016.

The Phoenix Tourette Syndrome program is a unique partnership between Phoenix Children’s and Banner Sun Health Research Institute. It first earned its Tourette Association of America (TAA) center of excellence designation in 2020.
