Phoenix Children’s was the Second Busiest Pediatric Heart Transplant Center in the Country in 2016

In 2016, Phoenix Children’s pediatric heart transplant center was the second busiest in the U.S., performing 24 heart transplants as reported by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR). This brings the program’s total to 67 transplants since its inception in 2011. The program has seen rapid growth with excellent outcomes.

Arizona Sports and KTAR Give-A-Thon Raises Record-Breaking $1.58 Million

The 16th annual Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s Hospital became the top fundraiser of its kind in the country by collecting more than $1.58 million in donations during a 19-hour radio simulcast on KTAR News (92.3 FM) and Arizona Sports (98.7 FM). This marks the seventh year in a row that Bonneville Media’s two stations have exceeded $1 million in donations.

One of the country’s foremost pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons has joined the top-ranked pediatric heart program at Phoenix Children’s. Roosevelt Bryant III, MD, now serves as surgical director of the Cardiac Transplantation and Mechanical Assist Device Program at Phoenix Children’s Heart Center, ranked 14 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals and one of just 10 congenital cardiothoracic surgery programs in North America to earn the Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ highest-achievable three-star rating.
