Phoenix Children’s Medical Group is pleased to welcome nine new providers to its nationally ranked Neonatology program. These providers will serve Phoenix’s growing East Valley and expand the enterprise’s top-ranked neonatology services across Phoenix. Ranked among the top 20 neonatology programs in the United States, Phoenix Children’s NICU and neonatology services support dozens of conditions that impact newborns.

The new site is designed to accommodate up to 50,000 visits each year. The 35,000 square-foot space will provide 24/7 emergency care, 40 treatment rooms, 24/7 onsite laboratory services and around-the-clock imaging including ultrasound, computerized tomography, fluoroscopy and digital radiography.

A physician with Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital has helped create new recommendations from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), defining how much sleep children need. Matthew Troester, DO, pediatric neurologist, is one of 13 sleep medicine experts from around the world who developed the recommendations. This is the first time AASM has made sleep recommendations for children, and it will change the way doctors advise parents on how much sleep children should get every day.
