Phoenix Children’s is pleased to announce Jared Muenzer, MD, MBA, has been promoted to serve the organization as Physician-in-Chief. As Physician-in-Chief, Dr. Muenzer will lead the nationally ranked clinical enterprise at Phoenix Children’s alongside Surgeon-in-Chief, Daniel Ostlie, MD.

With more than two decades’ experience in health system operations, Bradshaw will play an integral role in ensuring consistent, high-quality, integrated care across all sites of service as Phoenix Children’s continues its expansion across Arizona.

As Chief Physician Executive, Muenzer will lead all clinical care, including the health system’s growing behavioral health services, Phoenix Children’s Care Network, clinical research efforts at the Phoenix Children’s Research Institute, medical education and the growing network of Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics practices. He will continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix Children’s Medical Group, a role he has held since 2016.

Dr. Hauptman, who assumes his post in June, is a highly regarded pediatric neurosurgeon, researcher and professor. A practicing surgeon for more than 10 years, Dr. Hauptman offers unique expertise in the surgical management of pediatric epilepsy, removal of tumors in eloquent brain regions and treatment of congenital brain and spine anomalies in infants and young children.

Phoenix Children’s and Cigna announced the two organizations reached a tentative agreement yesterday as contract discussions continue. While the contract is being finalized, Phoenix Children’s remains an in-network provider for families with Cigna employer-sponsored health coverage.
