Kathleen van Leeuwen, MD, will serve as associate surgeon-in-chief of Phoenix Children’s Hospital – East Valley, slated to open in 2023. Dr. van Leeuwen is recognized in her field as an outstanding physician and surgeon and, as a longtime resident and active community member in the East Valley, she has worked and lived alongside the families Phoenix Children’s serves.

A mainstay of Phoenix Children’s Homeless Youth Outreach program, the new “doctor’s office on wheels” will deliver integrated medical and behavioral health services directly to youth experiencing homeless across greater Phoenix.
