Toddlers in Arizona are already drowning at double the national rate. Economic hardship is also increasing caregiver stress, childcare options are severely limited, and families are confined to apartments and single-family homes, where drowning risk is highest.

In 2016, Phoenix Children’s pediatric heart transplant center was the second busiest in the U.S., performing 24 heart transplants as reported by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR).
