Phoenix Children’s Medical Group is pleased to welcome nine new providers to its nationally ranked Neonatology program. These providers will serve Phoenix’s growing East Valley and expand the enterprise’s top-ranked neonatology services across Phoenix. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) and Phoenix Children’s Hospital announced the two organizations reached agreement on a new three-year contract. Under this new Contract, Phoenix Children’s Hospital will continue to be an in-network provider for BCBSAZ members and those families insured under plans that utilize the BCBSAZ network.

Phoenix Children’s has partnered with the Phoenix Fire Department to host the fourth EMS | MVP Pediatric Symposium, a training to ensure first responders in Arizona have the up-to-date education they need to respond to pediatric emergencies, which often require a very different response than adult emergency calls.

Phoenix Children’s ranked No. 17 on the 2022 “Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America,” an awards program from Healthiest Employers® honoring organizations investing in the health and well-being of their employees. The health system jumped 54 places in the rankings compared to last year, when Phoenix Children’s was named No. 71 in the country.

The new site is designed to accommodate up to 50,000 visits each year. The 35,000 square-foot space will provide 24/7 emergency care, 40 treatment rooms, 24/7 onsite laboratory services and around-the-clock imaging including ultrasound, computerized tomography, fluoroscopy and digital radiography.

Phoenix Children’s Sports Medicine program is opening sports physical therapy facilities specifically aimed at patients’ ages four to 30. The program will open two clinics in the Valley this fall, in Gilbert and North Phoenix, which will be the first Arizona sports physical therapy clinics designed for pediatric and young adult populations. The facilities will offer everything from return-to-sports readiness care, to cupping and dry needling.

The new clinic, which will begin serving families on Wednesday, Nov. 15, is located at 6524 W. Sack Drive in Glendale. The opening of the multi-specialty clinic marks the first phase of the campus’ opening. Construction continues at Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Arrowhead Campus, a freestanding pediatric hospital that will provide inpatient care, a 24/7 emergency department, a surgery center and a full suite of imaging services. The hospital is slated to open in July 2024.
