Phoenix Children’s Medical Group (PCMG) announced today that it has added six new physicians to its nationally ranked Nephrology Division. Gina-Marie Barletta, MD; Kelly Benedict, MD; Stephanie Hsieh, MD; Mark Joseph, MD; Karen Papez, MD; and Scott Williams, MD, have joined PCMG, creating the largest team of pediatric nephrologists in Arizona.

Only available at a handful of children’s cancer centers nationwide, CAR-T worked for Angel, destroying the leukemia cells and giving him a second chance at life.

Scientists at Phoenix Children’s Research Institute at the University of Arizona College of Medicine — Phoenix have achieved remarkable progress in medical research thus far in 2024, advancing new cures, securing significant funding and improving medical care through more than 700 active studies.

This research provides new clarity on a rare, lethal, genetic lung disease which causes respiratory failure in newborns and infants. It also has implications for more common pulmonary disorders.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Mesa Pediatrics Professional Association (“Mesa Pediatrics”) are thrilled to announce Mesa Pediatrics and its four locations across the Phoenix East Valley joined Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics. The collaboration brings together providers from two of Arizona’s original pediatric institutions. Mesa Pediatrics was the first pediatric practice established in the East Valley with a board certified pediatrician, and Phoenix Children’s is the first and only standalone children’s hospital in Arizona.

For the twelfth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Phoenix Children’s among the nation’s “Best Children’s Hospitals.” The health system also earned recognition as the top children’s hospital in Arizona for the second consecutive year. Only 35 states and Washington, D.C. were home to hospitals with a top state distinction, per U.S. News.
