Before they can even start kindergarten, too many of our children are drowning - among Arizona children one to four years old, drowning deaths are happening at double the national rate. And, these deaths are most likely to happen between now and Labor Day weekend. That’s why Phoenix Children’s Hospital brings the state together for Drowning Impact Awareness Month, Arizona’s largest drowning prevention effort, which kicks off on Friday, July 29th at 9:30 am in the Melvin L. Cohen Conference Center, at 1919 E. Thomas, Phoenix, AZ.

The new clinic, which will begin serving families on Wednesday, Nov. 15, is located at 6524 W. Sack Drive in Glendale. The opening of the multi-specialty clinic marks the first phase of the campus’ opening. Construction continues at Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Arrowhead Campus, a freestanding pediatric hospital that will provide inpatient care, a 24/7 emergency department, a surgery center and a full suite of imaging services. The hospital is slated to open in July 2024.

Phoenix Children’s ranked No. 17 on the 2022 “Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America,” an awards program from Healthiest Employers® honoring organizations investing in the health and well-being of their employees. The Valley Toyota Dealers Association (TDA) announced today that they will match up to $250,000 toward the new Emergency Department and Trauma Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. As the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation nears its goal of raising $40 million to fund the new facility, the TDA plays a major role in raising the last $500,000 needed to achieve that target. Together, the TDA and Phoenix Children’s are asking the community to help raise the remaining funds of $250,000.

For the second time in a row, Phoenix Children’s annual cereal drive for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance yielded more than 1 million servings of food for Arizona’s vulnerable children. Two of the largest non-profit organizations in the state, Phoenix Children’s and St. Mary’s provide meals to children through the summer. For the seventh year, Phoenix Children’s cereal drive is the largest donation event of the year for St. Mary’s and stocks the shelves during the season when children lose access to school-provided meals. Hospital staff gathered at St. Mary’s Food Bank Warehouse on Monday morning to celebrate as the organization delivered its contribution to fighting childhood hunger.
