Types of ADHD

This form of ADHD is notable for significant difficulties with focus and attention and problems with distractibility. Children with this type of ADHD might have difficulty organizing tasks, following detailed instructions or maintaining attention in tasks or play activities. Hyperactivity and impulsivity are not typically a significant problem.

Children with this form of ADHD primarily have issues with hyperactive and impulsive behaviors. This may manifest as excessive fidgeting, difficulty remaining seated, acting without thinking and interrupting or intruding on others. These behaviors occur to a greater degree than in other children of the same age and may interfere with learning and socialization.

This subtype is a combination of impulsive and hyperactive behaviors along with inattention and distractibility. It is the most common form of ADHD and presents challenges in multiple aspects of life, including academic, social and family interactions.
