The Value of Pediatric-Focused Emergency Care

While general emergency departments treat patients of all ages, a pediatric emergency department focuses solely on kids. Our teams have one mission in mind: helping your child get the top-level treatment they need in a way that’s custom-fit for them.

Our child-focused environment is full of colorful walls, age-appropriate toys and tailored, pediatric-sized medical equipment — from small-scale blood pressure cuffs and bone splints to X-ray machines that deliver kid-friendly, low-dose radiation.

Here, providers have advanced training in both pediatric medicine and in emergency medicine. Each member of our department’s extended care teams, including our nurses, diagnostic and lab technicians and other targeted care subspecialists, also have extensive pediatric training.

Together, we’re experts at working with the smallest patients. This shared commitment means that we can, as a team, help children’s experience in the emergency department feel as positive as possible.
