Ophthalmology
Our fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric ophthalmologists provide medical and surgical treatments for a wide range of common and more complex eye conditions. These include:
- Amblyopia (lazy eye)
- Blocked tear ducts
- Cataracts
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Dermoids (noncancerous tumors)
- Diplopia (double vision) may occur due to other medical, neurologic or traumatic issues
- External disease of the eye (infections, abrasions, ocular emergencies)
- Glaucoma
- Intraocular inflammation (uveitis) affects the uvea or the eye’s middle layer
- Keratoconus occurs when the cornea (clear outer layer of the eye) thins, bulges and becomes shaped like a cone
- Ptosis (droopy eyelid) can impair vision
- Refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism)
- Retinoblastoma
- Retinopathy of prematurity
- Strabismus (eye misalignment) in pediatric and adult patients
