Sometimes our patients require medication that needs to be custom-made to meet their personalized needs. Our compounding services allows us to tailor dosages and formulations, adjust ingredients for children who have allergies and even add kid-friendly flavors to liquid medicines.

You can count on us for:

  • New prescriptions
  • Transferred prescriptions
  • Prescription refills
  • Non-prescription medication
  • Hospital bedside delivery
  • Home delivery at no charge
  • A place to dispose of old medication
  • Acceptance of most insurance plans

If we can’t fill your prescription, we provide services to ensure you get the medication you need at a pharmacy that can.

Convenient Bedside Delivery

With our Meds to Beds program, we offer patients at our Thomas Campus location convenient bedside delivery and refill services for prescription medications. As you and your child go through the hospital discharge process, our Meds to Beds program helps you get home more quickly, with no extra stops along the way.

  • A representative from our pharmacy will visit with you while your child is in the hospital to review a complete list of your current medications and discuss any new ones.
  • The representative will ask you if you would like to sign up for bedside delivery and will collect your insurance information and any prescription copay.
  • When your doctor places an order for prescriptions you’ll need to take home, we will coordinate any prior authorizations with your insurance to ensure there are no delays in starting your medication.
  • A representative from our pharmacy will delivery your prescriptions directly to your room and answer any questions before you leave.

Safely Dispose of Old Medication

If you have prescription medication that is no longer needed, it’s important to properly destroy it to help keep you, your family members and your community safe. We are proud to serve as a DEATakeBack.com collection site at our Phoenix Children’s Hospital - Thomas Campus location.

You can drop off your unwanted medication at our Take Back kiosk, located in front of the Retail Pharmacy and accessible when the pharmacy is open.

Medical sharps are things like used needles or syringes. We can’t take back used or unused medical sharps.

At home, store used needles or syringes in a puncture-resistant container that you can tightly seal and store out of reach of children. Many of our patients use empty plastic laundry detergent bottles or peanut butter jars. We also sell sharps disposal containers in our Retail Pharmacy. In big, bold letters, use a permanent marker to write NON-RECYCLABLE MEDICAL WASTE on your sharps container. Seal the container with heavy-duty tape.

You can research drop-off collection sites or mail-back programs for sharps. You also can dispose your labeled and sealed sharps container in the trash. Do not recycle or flush used needles or syringes.
