What to Expect

Pharmacy liaisons, clinical pharmacists and technicians specializing in pediatric conditions will partner with you to provide personalized support in obtaining and using specialty medications. Our patient liaisons work closely with care teams to ensure you and your child’s needs are met throughout treatments.

Your Specialty Pharmacy Liaison will:

  • Review medication needs
  • Conduct prior authorizations
  • Obtain insurance approvals
  • Advocate for medication appeals
  • Work to reduce the cost of medication
  • Offer financial assistance
  • Communicate with providers and other pharmacies
  • Provide education and medication counseling
  • Inform you, your child and doctors of any issues experienced with medications
  • Monitor adherence, nutrition, side effects and drug interactions
  • Coordinate refills and free delivery to the location of your choice in Arizona
  • Send personalized refill reminders

If we can’t fill your specialty medication, we can help you get the medication you need at a pharmacy that can. If you would like to have a specialty medication transferred to Phoenix Children’s, we can help you with that as well.

We offer free language assistance to patients and families whose primary languages are not English. Interpreters are available by telephone, video remote and in person.
