Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)

Children living with physical or cognitive disabilities may need long-term from our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) providers. Our team takes great pleasure in building relationships with our patients and their families, developing a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan and providing exceptional care to help children and adolescents be as independent as possible.

Outpatient PM&R Clinics

During outpatient PM&R clinic appointments, our goal is to provide a comprehensive evaluation and care to ensure your child has the support and resources needed for them to reach their full potential. Please bring any equipment your child uses to improve their function or mobility (walker, braces, etc.) to the appointment so our team can assess their effectiveness and make any necessary adjustments.

A provider who specializes in PM&R (a physiatrist or physiatry advanced nurse practitioner) will evaluate your child during each appointment. Visits may include:

Most importantly, our physiatrists provide care coordination. They communicate with other providers on your child’s care team, including specialists and your child’s pediatrician or primary care provider. Our aim is to engage everyone in the treatment planning process, facilitate discussions about updates to the care plan and address any questions you may have. When your child requires new equipment, our physiatrist and office staff are available to assist. They will guide you toward the appropriate support and resources needed.
