The Fetal Cardiology Program at Phoenix Children’s is one of the largest and most comprehensive fetal cardiology programs in the Southwest. We are a nationally recognized leader in the diagnosis and management of complex fetal cardiovascular disorders housed within a top-ranked pediatric heart center.
Our team of fetal and pediatric specialists provides compassionate, coordinated care for high-risk pregnancies affected by:
- Maternal health factors such as lupus, diabetes, congenital heart disease and infection.
- Structural heart defects identified by your obstetrical team during pregnancy, such as hypoplastic left heart syndrome, tetralogy of Fallot and transposition of the great arteries.
- Irregular fetal heart rhythms, such as atrioventricular block and supraventricular tachycardia.
- Fetal genetic anomalies such as trisomy 21, DiGeorge syndrome, or trisomy 18, which have a high association with congenital heart disease.
- Extracardiac anomalies affecting the heart such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and congenital pulmonary malformations (CPAM).
We know dealing with fetal heart issues can feel overwhelming at times. Our dedicated team includes nurse care coordinators who guide you through every aspect of your care and explain what’s happening in terms you understand. Beginning with your initial consultation and continuing throughout your pregnancy, you’ll have the support – and the answers – you need. If needed, our team of maternal mental health professionals will provide additional support as you walk this journey with a child with congenital heart disease.
We accept self-referrals and direct referrals from obstetricians, family practitioners, perinatologists or other specialists taking care of your unborn child.
