About Alfred W. DePietro, NNP
Alfred Walter DePietro Jr. had youthful aspirations of becoming a Navy SEAL. He pursued medical training in preparation, and later, after some maturing, decided to pursue a nursing career. Inspired by friends who worked with newborn patients, Alfred found his passion. He decided to become a neonatal nurse practitioner."It's so rewarding to take care of sick newborn babies and see them go home," Alfred says. "As a team of professionals, we strive to give the best possible care available, but we also remember that these patients feel what we feel. It's important to me to help the parents as much as possible to deal with this horrible, scary thing happening to their infant."Alfred has been recognized for his leadership abilities, having received the 2009 Preceptor of the Year Award at Arizona State University. When not at work, Alfred enjoys deep sea fishing, sport shooting, hunting, woodworking and golfing. A knife and watch collector, he also enjoys spending time with his family, which includes eight dogs.
