About Candace A. Fradette, FNP

Candace Fradette, MSN, FNP-C, RN, CNOR, earned both her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science family nurse practitioner certification from Grand Canyon University. She has worked in nursing since 1992, joining Phoenix Children's in 2017 as a family nurse practitioner in the Division of Pediatric Surgery. Prior to joining Phoenix Children's, Fradette worked as a staff nurse at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center.

Originally from Maine, Fradette has been married for 22 years. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking and camping. She has actively participated in numerous humanitarian efforts in Ecuador through Healing the Children and has been honored with a variety of awards for her nursing leadership and patient care.

Fradette is a member of several professional societies, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Association of Operating Room Nurses and American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association. She picked Phoenix Children's because pediatrics is her favorite population. Knowing and working with the pediatric general surgeons for the last 10 years made the transition from HonorHealth very easy. She loves that she gets to "squish bellies and help make children better every day."

Candace Fradette is one of the very best nurse practitioners we have known. I have a 28-year-old son who has a seizure disorder, cerebral palsy and is nonverbal. Most doctors or nurses do not speak to him now that he is older, but Candace does. She talks right to him. She sees that he understands. She asks him questions and looks for him to Blink, which is his way of saying, yes. She walks in the door and knows his name and is happy to see him and shows him. She treats him the way that she would treat anybody, whether they are nonverbal or not. I have so much respect and admiration for her because I know that she advocates for people with disabilities all the time. She is their voice. She is amazing. We love her.

Provider has excellent bedside manners and explained everything throughly!

Candace Fradette was amazing! She made the whole experience so much easier for me and my son. We were feeling pretty defeated prior to seeing her because of the situation we've been in. But she made us laugh. She made jokes. She was clear in the info she was telling us. Loved her!!!

LOVED Candy - she was an absolute delight and was so unbelievably sweet with my son.
