About Cherisse Mecham, MD
Cherisse Mecham, MD, is Medical Director of the emergency department at Phoenix Children's Thomas Campus and a pediatric emergency medicine physician. She also serves as Section Chief of the Emergency Department, and Medical Director for Clinical Pathways.
After graduating magna cum laude from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, Dr. Mecham earned her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. She completed her residency training in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Phoenix Children's in Phoenix.
Dr. Mecham is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association, and she serves as the Pediatric Disaster Preparedness Ambassador for the state of Arizona.
Dr. Mecham is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine and faculty member at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. She has published peer-reviewed research in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, Clinical Pediatrics and the Journal of Asthma, among others.
In her free time, Dr. Mecham enjoys crafting, running obstacle course races, traveling and spending time with her family.
