Caring for children every day also includes helping their parents navigate what is often one of the hardest experiences of their lives. My role is to listen to and work with parents to get children feeling better and back to their lives.
About Danielle F. Smith, MD
Danielle Smith, MD, FAAP, is a pediatric hospitalist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Smith has specialized training to treat a wide range of conditions that affect children who are admitted to the hospital.
After graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, Dr. Smith earned her medical degree at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, a part of Montefiore Medical Center, in Bronx, New York. Dr. Smith finished her medical training with a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York.
Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has presented research at the national Pediatric Hospital Medicine conference. She also is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys being with her family and exploring Arizona.
