About Dustin J. Rayhorn, MD
Dustin J. Rayhorn, MD, FAAP, is a pediatric hospitalist and president of the medical staff at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Rayhorn has specialized training to diagnose, treat and manage a full spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions that require children and teens to be admitted to the hospital for care.
Dr. Rayhorn graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree and attended medical school at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He completed his medical training through the Phoenix Children's and Maricopa Medical Center Pediatric Residency Program, where he served as chief resident.
Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both general pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine, Dr. Rayhorn is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has been named a Top Doctor by PHOENIX magazine multiple times and was honored as Phoenix Children's Physician of the Year. He is a regular presenter at executive leadership and patient safety meetings hosted by Phoenix Children's.
Dr. Rayhorn is a long-standing leader at Phoenix Children's, working as medical director for the division of Hospital Medicine and several care areas before serving as vice president and then president of the Medical Staff. He holds faculty appointments at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, Creighton University School of Medicine and A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Rayhorn was previously recognized with the Melvin L. Cohen Inpatient Teaching Faculty of the Year award.
Dr. Rayhorn spends his free time cheering for his kids at their youth hockey games, and also enjoys grilling and cooking for his family.
