About Eric S. Bowman, DO

When it came to choosing a career, Eric Bowman, DO, was torn between becoming a teacher or a physician. Ultimately, he realized that a medical career would fulfill his passion for teaching families and future physicians while also giving him the opportunity to help patients.

"I love working with athletes and being a part of the team that gets them back to doing what they love," says Dr. Bowman, who is a sports medicine doctor with specialties in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), fractures and concussions. "Giving patients that final clearance is such an amazing moment for them and their families."

A former athlete himself, Dr. Bowman has a background in osteopathic medicine, which inspires him to treat patients in a holistic fashion - focusing on body, mind and spirit. He regularly uses OMT, a hands-on technique of diagnosing, treating, and preventing injury or illness in the bones, muscles and joints.

Dr. Bowman, a native of Ohio, joined Phoenix Children's to become director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, and as a bonus, to escape the cold weather of his home state.

In his free time, Dr. Bowman enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. They are avid hikers and campers and also love traveling throughout the country to participate in half marathons.

Dr. Bowman was fantastic. He is kind, compassionate, and so knowledgeable. I love how he provided treatment options and explained pros and cons to each. Highly recommend him and his staff.

The doctor was so nice to my son , respectful and caring. As all doctors , they are always busy but he covered what he had to. I have never met a doctor that was so nice and connected so well to my son. I am still surprised!

Great provider! Great listener and amazing for tailoring care based on conditions AND needs/lifestyle of my active teenage daughter! My daughter was very impressed that he was so knowledgeable about dancers! Highly recommend!

Dr Bowman had a great bedside manner. He was thorough, explained in a manner we could understand, and offered ample time for questions or deeper conversation. He took his time in explaining the treatment plan and even offering a zoom call for follow up since we came all the way from Glendale.

Dr. Bowman was phenomenal. He was very thorough, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I will continue to recommend him to anyone I meet that has Pediatric ortho needs! After our visit, my daughter asked if he could be her pediatrician permanently!

Dr Bowman has the best bed side manner!

Dr Bowman is ALWAYS amazing with my daughter...I would recommend Dr Bowman in an instant as he is friendly, answers everything honestly and listens to the kids as well. Love him!!!

Best experience I've had in seven years with my special needs daughter.

Dr Bowman is the best! Always attentive, understanding and delivering the best care possible!

Thorough friendly knowledgeable and accommodating for my Autistic son.,

Excellent service thank you for your service

Dr. Bowman was wonderful. He talked to me and my son, thoroughly explained everything, and was very knowledgeable and detailed with his explanations. We came to Phoenix Children's to get second opinion because we were skeptical on the information from a different provider, and that decision turned into a great experience.

Very kind and respectful to my son and myself, helped us feel comfortable and trusting

Dr. Bowman was terrific. He provided reassurance, guidance, input and a physical assessment to inform decision making. He offered multiple treatment options and benefits and disadvantages of each. He was kind, took his time, listened actively, asked my child's input and provided a great review/summary at the end. We've seen him before an and it was a pleasure to work with him. He was also jovial and casual, which was nice and put us at ease.

Dr. Bowman explained things very well and was conservative in the care plan which is my preferred way
