About Jamie L. Librizzi, MD
Jamie L. Librizzi, MD, MSHS, FAAP, is a pediatric hospitalist and serves as director of clinical operations for hospital medicine at Phoenix Children's. As a hospitalist, she cares for children with a wide range of medical conditions, from common illnesses and infections to recovery from injury or surgery. In addition, Dr. Librizzi educates families on medications and other ways to manage chronic illnesses.
Dr. Librizzi earned her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, before earning her medical degree from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Brown University and Hasbro Children's in Providence, Rhode Island, and a fellowship in hospital medicine at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she was named Fellow of the Year. Dr. Librizzi also graduated with a master's in clinical and translational research from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Board certified in general pediatrics and in pediatric hospital medicine, Dr. Librizzi is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Section on Hospital Medicine. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Librizzi serves as an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, a role that has twice earned her the Melvin Cohen Faculty Teaching Award, which recognizes the top faculty educator voted by medical residents.
Dr. Librizzi has collaborated on several research projects and earned a grant specific to medical education research. Her work has been published in journals such as Hospital Pediatrics and the Journal of Hospital Medicine, and she has presented workshops at national pediatric and hospital medicine conferences.
During her free time, Dr. Librizzi enjoys being outside and staying active through biking, hiking and boating. She also spends time cooking, trying new restaurants and visiting family on the East Coast.
