About Kayce M. Morton, DO
Kayce Morton, DO, is a pediatric hospitalist at Phoenix Children's who provides treatment and coordinates care for children admitted to the hospital. To improve health outcomes, Dr. Morton considers each patient's past and current experiences.
Dr. Morton enjoys working with her highly skilled colleagues, as well as the culture and collaboration at Phoenix Children's. Prior to joining the Phoenix Children's team, Dr. Morton was the pediatric medical director of the Jordan Valley Community Health Center in Springfield, Missouri and has been a community pedaitric hospitalist at CoxHealth since leaving residency.
After finishing her undergraduate degree at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, Dr. Morton earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. She then completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
Dr. Morton is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a senior fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine and is actively involved with SOHM Community Pediatric Hospitalist subcommittee. She is also a member of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and the Greene County Medical Society. Dr. Morton also has served as a board member for the Missouri Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, an executive board member of the Greene County Medical Society, an alternate delegate for the Missouri State Medical Association, and an advisory council member for the Mayor's Commission for Children in Springfield, Missouri.
In addition to her clinical interests, Dr. Morton conducts research to advance the field of pediatric hospital medicine. She has published peer-reviewed studies in publications, including Pediatrics, The Journal of Hospital Medicine and Hospital Pediatrics.
Dr. Morton knew she wanted to be a physician after her sister was born early with several health concerns. Despite her young age at the time, Dr. Morton remembers wanting to help and make her sister feel better. She believes that children are resilient, but they also have experiences that deeply affect them. She works to meet patients where they are in life to provide the best possible care.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Morton enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. She also likes traveling, hiking and boating, as well as volunteering with rescue animals.
