A desire to care for the most medically vulnerable children led me to a career in pediatrics. I believe every child deserves safe, equitable care, regardless of their life circumstances.
About Kelly R. Kelleher, MD
Kelly Kelleher, MD, FAAP, is associate chief medical officer, as well as chief quality and safety officer at Phoenix Children's. She also works as a pediatric hospitalist.
After completing an undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, Dr. Kelleher earned her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at Phoenix Children's, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Kelleher is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric hospital medicine, she is an active member of the state and national chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves on the Council on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. She is also a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine and the Maricopa County Medical Society.
Dr. Kelleher is also an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the Creighton University School of Medicine and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, both in Phoenix. Dr. Kelleher has been an invited speaker for the Children's Hospital Association Quality Leaders Forum, among other national and regional conferences.
In her free time, Dr. Kelleher enjoys trying new restaurants, taking road trips and spending time with her family.
