About Melinda L. Hallman, FNP
Melinda (Mindy) Hallman, FNP, is a nurse practitioner who specializes in wound care, which she strives to provide with skill, compassion and respect.
"Wounds are often seen as scary," she says. "Patients and family members typically come into the clinic apprehensive and fearful." Mindy enjoys putting their minds at ease as she helps them understand what to expect and accompanies them on their journey to healing.
Earlier in her career, Mindy worked as a registered nurse at a wound care clinic. Her enthusiasm for the specialty grew as she learned from some of the best wound care doctors. They took time to explain procedures and treatments and encouraged her to continue her education to become a nurse practitioner.
Mindy is passionate about children. "I find the work especially rewarding when I'm able to help a child overcome a wound that's affecting their daily life. I love the idea that when they heal, they can go back to just being a kid."
That's why she values being part of Phoenix Children's, where she says, "We adults come together a little bit better, work a little harder and care a little more because it's for the children."
In her free time, Mindy enjoys hanging out with family and friends, cooking and baking. When she gets a chance, she loves taking cruises to see different countries and cultures.
