About Michael D. Wade, MD
Michael Wade, MD, is an emergency medicine physician with Phoenix Children's.
Dr. Wade is an Arizona native. After finishing his military service, he moved back home to be close to family and start a family of his own. Phoenix Children's has been a second home to him. He loves the people he works with as much as the patient population he gets to serve.
After earning his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Wade came to Phoenix Children's to further his training with a pediatric residency and a pediatric urgent care fellowship.
He is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Wade was honored as a Gold Humanism Honor Society Inductee. This is a recognition given to medical students, residents and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine.
After serving in the Army as a medic, Dr. Wade found his true calling, to continue caring for people in emergency situations. He now treats all issues that present in emergency care and urgent care settings. He strives to educate families so they can help make well-informed medical decisions.
In his free time, Dr. Wade enjoys competing in mud runs and adventure races and has completed many races in multiple states. He also enjoys attending Phoenix Suns games.
