About Mohamad Alaeddine, MD
Mohamad Alaeddine, MD, is a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon at Phoenix Children's. He has extensive training in the surgical treatment of cardiac conditions that affect infants, children, and adolescents. His areas of expertise include congenital cardiac surgery for all patients' ages, heart transplantation, and the implantation of ventricular assist devices.
Dr. Alaeddine earned his medical degree from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania. He finished his surgical residency training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon, and at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Alaeddine developed a passion for pediatric cardiothoracic surgery early in his surgical training, where he completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He finished training with a congenital cardiac surgery fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 2018, Dr Alaeddine joined the congenital cardiac surgery department at Phoenix Children's to become an integral team member.
Dr. Alaeddine is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in cardiothoracic surgery and Congenital Cardiac Surgery subspecialty. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Committed to research in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Alaeddine has written chapters for medical textbooks, presented at national and international conferences, and published peer-reviewed research in reputable journals.
Known for delivering exceptional care to his patients and appreciating the value of parents' time with their children, Dr. Alaeddine prioritizes spending quality time with his family and two children during his off-duty hours.
