About Randall K. Ricardi, DO
Dr. Randall Ricardi is a child psychiatrist who has been practicing for more than 30 years.
In addition, Dr. Ricardi is responsible for training medical students in a variety of settings. He is a clinical professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix, Barrow Neurological Institute and Creighton University School of Medicine. He also serves as an assistant clinical professor at Midwestern University School of Medicine and as an instructor in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Dr. Ricardi graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his residency in general and child psychiatry at Lafayette Clinic in Michigan. He then completed a child psychiatry fellowship at The Hawthorn Center, also in Michigan.
The American Psychiatric Association bestowed the honor of naming Dr. Ricardi a Distinguished Fellow in 2017. This title means that he's been recognized by his peers for demonstrating dedication to the psychiatric profession. Dr. Ricardi has also been named a Phoenix Magazine Top Doc since 2015.
Clinical research is an area of special interest for Dr. Ricardi. He has been involved in extensive research for a wide range of topics, including Tourette syndrome, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety/phobia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, pediatric Down's syndrome and more.
He has presented on a plethora of child psychology topics. Some of his latest presentation topics include training pediatricians to manage psychiatric disorders, suicide risk assessment and the psychosocial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Ricardi has been published in prestigious journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the Journal of Attention Disorders.
When not at work, Dr. Ricardi enjoys traveling, playing the piano, hiking, gardening and scuba diving.
